With the new format, I have no idea how to assign my students lessons. Is this still possible? Thank you.

Permanently deleted user Official comment Hi Colleen,
The ability to assign multiple lessons to a group of students has been removed. Instead, students can navigate to projects teachers tell them to and they can progress through the lessons manually.
The classroom tool let teacher see students were on step 3 of 5 in a lesson, but they were not able to see the work the students were actually completing. Now with Tinkercad teachers can actually see student designs by clicking their name on the Moderate Kids page.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have additional questions.
Thanks,
John

Cleared Thank you for the new information. I thought that I was missing something. I am not sure why, but the moderate page is so slow to load on my end. Am I doing something wrong or is there anything that I can do to speed this up?

Cleared where is the moderate kids page?
-
Cleared also how do you assign things manually?
-
Cleared The moderate kids option is under your profile.

Denise Dedini I'm concerned about the decision to "unplug" Project Ignite during a school year. I have a huge issue with this, because the curriculum I have built is based upon the lessons in the Project Ignite module, "Let's Learn Tinkercad". Now I have to re-tool the entire thing because students won't have the official "assignment" for them and I can't find this module in Tinkercad. Is it available to students?

Permanently deleted user Hi Denise,
Thank you for this feedback, we appreciate it. We are always working to provide the best for our community. We will be meeting next week as we approach the transition and I have already passed this comment along.
In the meantime, you can see the entire gallery of projects here: https://www.tinkercad.com/learn/projects#/project-gallery;collectionId=OY5L5E8IRXTI47Z
The Let's Learn Tinkercad project is at the top.
Here is the direct link to the project you are looking for: https://www.tinkercad.com/learn/projects#/project/O8XV0X1IRXTXGIH;collectionId=OY5L5E8IRXTI47Z
All students have to do is navigate to the project on TInkercad and begin. When they return to the project they will pick up where they left off.
Please let me know if you have additional questions.
Thanks,
John

Permanently deleted user @Colleen,
Thanks for jumping in and helping on this thread.
We know the Moderate Kids page needs improvements due to the increase student/teacher use. We are working make improvements in this area. Thanks for working with us.
Thanks,

Cleared Couldn't be more disappointed with the timing of your change over. An obvious overlook of the the educators using your system. Students couldn't even find a place on their dashboard to put in the new "invitation" codes ... having over 150- students with the same code is extremely inefficient for monitoring purposes and printing purposes!

Elizabeth The inability to assign specific projects makes this difficult to manage and teach, especially students with disabilities and younger students. They, in particular, have a hard time navigating online environments already in a virtual setting. Is there any way that assigning projects to specific students/or classes can be done?

Elizabeth Also, there is no way to delete duplicate comments and I would like my last name removed from the comments forum.

Douglasparsons Douglasparsons Dear Christian,
I'm new to using TinkerCAD Classroom. We are completely virtual until it is safe to go back to face to face school. The ability to assign and track lessons is important. Since this virtual school year is so new, I am building this plane as I fly it.
I need kids to ramp up to speed on TinkerCAD skills and be able to monitor it for completion and understanding. Has this been done yet? If so, how do I assign tutorials or lessons to my students?

If you are a moderator of the students you work with, then that will make it easy to review their designs. I recommend using Tinkercad Classrooms to get the students in Tinkercad. Unless they are able to log in with Google, Tinkercad Classrooms is the way to go.
As for assignments, you can post links to lessons in the Learning Management System your school is using. For example here is a link to a set of starters you can try to share with your students in your LMS: https://www.tinkercad.com/learn/project-gallery;collectionId=OPC41AJJKIKDWDV
They just need to log into Tinkercad, either via your Class link/nickname you generate in Tinkercad Classrooms or Log in with Google. Once they are logged into Tinkercad, they will be able to follow that link to the lessons. You can find more lessons at www.tinkercad.com/learn. To get the link, you can right click on the lesson and copy the link.

I tried sending the link above to my students, but it redirects them to a blank page? They don't seem to have access to the direct starters lessons? I have them when I open it on my account, but not on theirs? They could really do with them as this is our first time using Tinkercad and they are struggling.
