Permanently deleted user Hi Simon
Which browser, and have you tried a different browser and different models?
-
Permanently deleted user Generally it has to do with issues with the geometry in the object, which may time out the generation of the file. Another potential option is if you are using the Metro app on Surface Pro, which has a known issue with downloading files.

Ispajic Hi, I'm having that issue as well. I was able to download that same model with a couple of tubes less. Now I can't download it anymore. I've tried deleting other objects in the file, and left only this one, but it still doesn't work. The browser is Chrome.

Permanently deleted user If the model has shape generators, we are having issues with huge traffic on the server that evaluates shape generators. So if you are on queue for this, the request my time out. It gets back to normal when traffic goes down. We are working on getting all set up for adding more instances of that server. The rest of Tinkercad servers are already set up for scaling.
So if you do this later in the day, it will work. And as I said, it should work reliably all the time once we can scale servers upon need.

Permanently deleted user Can I ask for 100th time that AutoDesk not go live with a change unless it's been fully tested, including (especially) with regard to performance. I would also ask that the team always be ready to back out an update when problems are discovered in a newly released production build.
again, it's extremely important with a cloud-based system like Tinkercad and all your other consumer apps that EVERY release be at least as good as the one it replaces.

Permanently deleted user Bob, nothing got deployed into production since mid December, where we started caching the shape generator libraries and brought some relief to performance. The situation these days is based on extremely high traffic. For the past month or so, after the caching, we have been working in getting ready to have several instances of the server that receives all the evaluation requests. That work is extremely non trivial and does require a lot of testing before going out.

Ispajic It's OK now. Thank you very much!

Cleared HI I tried different browsers but running into the same issue

Cleared Hi Guillermo
Has there been any resolution to this problem as I am having the same issue? -
Permanently deleted user Hi Tiago,
The main issue we had in December and January has been resolved. We added 5x more instances and have a more aggressive caching, which brought relief to the service that processes the meshes for STL download. Service failed at that time when we had too many people requesting STL at same time. We are talking about thousands of requests.
That said, there are other reasons why you may not get a download. Sometimes it has to do with issues in the model, but in general this leads to either a time out or a 0kb download.
Can you share the URL for your model? You can do it in a ticket (you can submit on the top right) if you want to share a link to a private model.

Cleared I am having the same problem.
I made a simple sphere to see if it was a model issue and I could not even download a sphere.
I am not using a browser. I am using the app in windows 10.

Permanently deleted user Hi,
the app in Windows 10 has a problem for showing the download screen. If you go to IE11 or any other browser in that same machine, you will be able to download STL.

Cleared Hello!
I am having the same issue. My downloaded STL comes up as 0kb and will not open in anything. I’ve tested in Safari and Chrome on osx. Any ideas of how to remedy? Here is my link: https://tinkercad.com/things/lhYqAp1lQhE
Thanks!

Permanently deleted user Hi Soforeal22. I checked your file. Pretty much everything there is holes. Not sure what you are trying to get from it.
-
Cleared Thanks for responding! That's strange, the I've set the rectangle to not be a hole but a solid. The surrounding circles should be holes.
-
Cleared I’m trying to make a small speaker enclosure. I’ve double checked and the large rectangle is a solid (and colored). The STL that’s generated is 0kb and I am not able to upload to thingiverse.

Cleared Guillermo, it's May and the downloads and edits are super slow. I've tried undoing stuff and making the model MUCH simpler (you have to bring in shapes and adjust 'em somehow), but I'm still getting the "31 edits remaining" message. Downloads are virtually impossible. What gives?
-
Permanently deleted user Best way to understand the nature of the problem is if you send me one file with issues. If you are concerned about privacy, send me the file's url to guillermo.melantoni@autodesk.com. I can check speed for opening and download on my side (don't have any extra privileges), and then we can compare speed. I want to make sure it's not a bandwidth issue on your side.

Joshua Morris 308 I have a file that one of my students has created we are trying to cut it in half to created a slip on cast. We are having an issue with tinkercad grouping the holes and making the sections disappear. In addition, we can't get it to download the file to print. I am assuming this is due the same server over load. Would you be able to check for us also.
