Hi, I would like you to add an opacity feature somewhere, hopefully in the color selector tab. I know that it won't be opaque when it is 3d printed, but if allowed, it should allow designers to "see" through the opaque part of their design. It would mostly be a utility feature, just a checkbox that says opaque(default is "on"), and if deselected it will make the selected part of the design mostly invisible(like a ghost, or a colored hole). It would be really helpful in many places(representing glass, seeing the position of other shapes inside hollow objects, etc.).

Permanently deleted user Do you mean besides the current Hole feature? I use Hole to do just that - to see objects inside others.

Permanently deleted user Yeah, me too Andrew, but then you have to go back and change the color again. Solid opacity would be useful in that you could just leave it.

Permanently deleted user Transparency has been a request for a while. You'll have good news in the upcoming months ;)

Permanently deleted user It would be see through, but it would retain it's color. It would not be a hole, or create holes when grouped. It would act as a solid object,

Permanently deleted user I think what's really being said here, but correct me if I'm wrong, is the notion that Tinkercad support various material properties. Opacity would be a property of the material, as would color and perhaps other properties.

Permanently deleted user You can understand opacity as a property of the object. This would be one way to go.
You can also understand opacity as a property of a material that can be applied to an object. At that point, if you want transparency, you would choose a material that actually has transparency (glass, for example). But you would not be able to set transparency to wood or granite.
So I'm opening this to opinions. Would you like to see real materials added to our generic "toon" look, or just a couple of properties over our current Solid material (like opacity, maybe glossiness, etc). Would love to know what you think. -
Permanently deleted user that's exactly what I'm saying about the "transparency". Yes, it would be great to add properties of solid color.

Cleared When you make an object a hole the hole color in the new beta is not as transparent as the old tinkercad. This is a important feature because it makes it hard to see where the hole intersects other object. Making an object a hole also lets you see inside an object and see geometries and holes that you don't normally see when it is solid like x-ray vision. I love the new beta UI and features, but the hole transparency will be big hindrance to me and possibly to other tinkerers.
