I opened a class for my students but i would like to send them files they can open and practice on them. In the past I would have files ready and public on my account have them search for them and "copy and tinker" the files to their account. is there a way to do it with the new classroom? They don't have access to search now.

Are you able to share the URL of the design with the students easily? Then they can click the link, and "Copy and Tinker" the design into their own account.

Great idea sharing the URL. in most schools i will work when there is a shared folder for all the students.
Still some schools wont have one. can the students share/search within the classroom? Thanks

Christian Not yet, we may add a teacher shared project folder that Classroom students can access.

vhaupt vhaupt Ditto. I want exactly what all the above are asking for. My students are loving TC but there is no easy way for me to distribute 'copies' of files I create to my students so that they may then work on their own separate copy. I would very much like to be able to share entire TC files within the classroom, not just have them be able to view (and yikes) modify my original. For instance, I am trying to use TC to conduct a 'small house' project. The project is way over their head when it comes to the creation of such a project from scratch. I have prepared a 'small house' TC design with all the symbols one might find in any 'small house' that has a fixed floor area. I want each of them to have their own copy such that they can experiment with arranging the layout within the fixed floor space. They can take my starter file and then arrange the furniture, appliances, interior walls and doors around to come up with a workable floor plan. The only way I see at present for doing this would be to <control copy> all the symbols in my file, then open up their individual accounts and paste them in a new file, a very tedious process. Would love to see better tools for classroom use between teacher and student by way of sharing copies of files within the classroom.

Until we add it, a better method for kids to get their own versions of your design is to make it public, then share the URL of the design with the students. Then they can click the link, and "Copy and Tinker" the design into their own account.
