How to make Swords from Images

Have you ever wanted to turn an image of a sword into a 3D Tinkercad model? If you have, you've come to the right place. In 4 easy steps, I will explain how to use an image to create a sword.

Step one: Choose and modify your image
This is one of the most important steps.
Find a picture or image from the web of the sword you want to model.
Make sure the image is clear and sharp. a fuzzy image will turn out poor.
Using an image editing software, make the colors bolder and enhance lines if needed. Sometimes this does not work.
Make the background green. This helps the sword stand out better.

Step 2: Download and Import the Image Generator.
Download the image generator here: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/cO8SNfEuEIj-image-generator/
Import the image of your choice into the image generator.
Make the shape wider.
Create a hole and trim from the back of the object. Make sure to turn off the Snap Grid at the bottom right corner.

Step 3: Separate the hilt from the blade.
Once you have trimmed the sword, hit the "D" key and rotate it -90º so the patterned side is up. Then hit the "D" key again. Select the sword and hit "Command D" (Control D on a PC). Then you need to arrange the two halves together by rotating one and lifting it off the work-plane so the flat edges line up together.
Then color it and your finished!

I hope this tutorial has been helpful. Post a comment on the image generator or a question.
